A letter from a Civil War soldier to his mother from \"near Winchester, VA Thanksgiving morning Nov. 24, 1864\". It refers to General George Armstrong Custer and General William H. Powell and also mentions John Singleton Mosby and General Wesley Merritt. I am not certain what this letter represents. It ends with the phrase\"I will now finish this letter by affixing my name.\" But there is no signature. The letter is on heavy stock and has never been folded. I will let people who know more about these letters judge what it is. Was it an unfinished letter never mailed? Is is possibly a latter handwritten copy?
