General Notes:

- The weight of kiloware / loose stamps is the weight including the storage packaging (old envelopes, glassines, etc.) (not the postal packaging used to deliver the items to the buyer).

The ratio of off-paper to on-paper in these mixtures will be typically what is seen in the photos, which are of the actual sale items.

- At least for now, there isn\'t the time to count stamps, and any such undertaking will necessarily have to be an underestimate in case of error - broader concepts of stamp density or weight (how well stocked an album is, how heavy a bag of loose stamps weigh) are used here instead.

- There will be a natural slant toward showing older stamps in the advert pictures, but effort will be made to show the newer and less remarkable stamps too. Interesting pages / individual stamps may be omitted at whim or otherwise, whilst imaging the collection.

- The full contents of a collection will not usually be photographed due to space, time, effort, etc.

- The angle of photography might be acute at times, also giving a blurred background / foreground. This is to avoid a shadow cast by the camera / photographer, or to avoid glare from a light. The blurring is usually to focus in on a specific area, but it may be a casual aesthetic choice too.

- No stamps are expert-appraised as yet - but closeup images of specific stamps can be made on request.

- Separating stamps from each other / from envelopes:

There may be instances where stamps are stuck together due to having been left pressed together for a long time.

The buyer is advised to be careful when separating stamps in that situation and also when separating stamps from envelopes. My best technique is (please note that l have NOT processed any of the stamps on offer here, that is left to the buyer):

1. Leave the stamps to soak in a bowl of warm water, let the stamps naturally separate (swirl the water about if that helps, but don\'t pull at the stamps)

2. Collect the wet stamps and leave them to dry on a towel (preferably picture side down)

3. When no longer soggy (not necessarily crisp, but certainly more dry than soggy), transfer the stamps to a fresh, dry towel (preferably picture side up), place a clean sheet of paper over them, and iron them hot but without steam, until the stamps are dry (it only requires a few passes of the iron to thoroughly dry them out). The stamps will come out beautifully flat and dry.

I\'m unaware of any downsides to this technique. The printing on the stamps won\'t come off (unless perhaps you\'re working on something obscure or very old, e.g. stamps printed on chalky paper or using fugitive ink) and l don\'t ever recall even the shielding (\"franking\") coming off, just the glue, but apparently it is possible (chalky paper / fugitive ink is used as a security measure against this).
