This pewter porringer was madebySteiff forColonial Williamsburg Restorations. Porringers were popular for individual servings of porridge, soups and stews in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Similar porringers currently are for sale at shop.colonialwilliamsburg.com for $99.
This porringer is about 4 3/8\" in diameter and 1 1/2\" high. From the handle to the opposite edge of the bowl measures about 6 1/4\".
The bowl is without tarnish and has been well cared for. The underside has been scratched with \"DXE\" found immediately to the right of the hallmark and can be seenin the photos. Please refer to the photos to make your own determination of the condition of this porringer.
Shipping to any domestic (US) address will be made through USPS, UPS, or FedEx, whichever is most economical.
