Continental Silver Awl Sewing Tool
This a wonderful continental silver awl sewing tool with it\'s protective sheath that was made in the Netherlands. The awl in it\'s sheath is approximately three and three eighths inches long. The awl screws into and out of it\'s sheath. The awl has no monogram nor inscriptions engraved on it and it has not been buffed. The decorative motif could be considered to be art deco. This awl does compliment or match the needle case that is also listed on .
The stamping/hallmarking on the awl sheath is a sword indicating that it is made of 833 silver in the Netherlands. This sword mark was used between 1814 and 1953 There no other marks or stampings.
It is in nicely used vintage condition, a little polishing would not hurt.
