Conway Stewart 18K Solid Gold Ballpoint Pen, Year 2002 Queen Jubilee, Very Rare:
$3500.00

Up for sale is an absolutely stunning and very rare Conway Stewart 18K (750) solid gold barleycorn ballpoint pen in excellent condition. The pen has the following British gold hallmarks: <CS> (Conway Stewart), <750> (18K solid gold), <sideways anchor> (Birmingham Assay Office Mark), <British Crown> (British gold hallmark), and <c> (assayed in the year 2002). Year 2002 was the British Queen\'s Jubilee Celebration year making this pen very rare as only the fountain pen variant is listed as available for sale and no mention of ballpoints being produced. Perhaps this ballpoint pen was commissioned on a special order. The pen is serialized <01/001> on the top of the cap just below the clip ring. This suggests that this particular pen was the first ballpoint pen assayed from this series. The pen weighs approximately 50 grams and is almost 5.5 inches long. The pen is in excellent working order with a good working Parker-style refill. No box or papers. The Conway Stewart 18K solid gold barleycorn fountain pen sells for $4,500 on one website so this ballpoint variant is offered at a very competitive price.
