Here we have the KING of the Conway Stewart\'s. Made in London, England 1920s. This ULTRA RARE oversize or FULL Senior is simply stunning. Size 8 Nib. The pen is the original DURO it never had a number. It is simply, The \"Duro\" Pen. No need for model numbers when your the King. This is the biggest pen Conway made. This is the model they based the Modern Churchill oversize Pens on. Huge Pen. Conway Stewartcollectorswill know how rare it is to find even a fairly big vintage Conway let alone a Huge oversize original from the 20s. I have NEVER seen another vintage Conway that even came close to width and length. Makes a 58 or 60 exec look like a Dinkie. Even makes a 146 and a Magna look small (see photo 2.) The pen itself is made of mixed Red and Black Hard Rubber to form a Wood effect known as Ripple or Mottled. This one is unique. It has the pattern of the Finest Burr Walnut. Simply stunning. You will struggle to find a better condition Hard Rubber Conway Stewart in ANY size. Has a wonderful Gloss and Sheen to it. The Conway Stewart London Duro etc Barrel imprints are deep and easy to read. ULTRA RARE to find one of these early example you canactuallyread still. This pen has never beenpolishedor used very much. Always looked after in a serious collection. Never abused. The colour is still deep and rich. Zero oxidation etc. Rare. The Clip, Ring and Lever are Yellow Gold Plated. Alsoexcellentwith only the usual patina expected of Gold fittings this age. The true Star of the show or Jewel in its Crown though has to be that sensational HUGE 14C F Flex Nib. A collectors item on its own. To find one with zero damage and perfect Iridium tips is jump up and down JOY. This nib offers pure elegance of line all the way. A nib for the connoisseur. Writes with a Fine to medium Fine line at normal pressure. Quite user friendly and perfect for day to day writing. However this amazing nib really comes alive the moment you exorcise the flexibility. Very creative nib full of personality. Can easily flex from Fine to Double Broad on the down stroke when varying levels of pressure are applied. The flex is not loose, soft or twitchy. Only flexes upon request of user never by itself. A true Joy to write with. Grade A++++ Nib..
