This is a stunning, deep tone photogravure published in the 1880 portfolio \"Masterpieces of French Art\". It depicts the \"Chicken Woman of Dieppe\". It was engraved by Coupil and Co. from an 1876 painting by A. Vollon. It is printed on heavy, good quality paper. The ink is rich and velvety. The plate impression marks are distinct and clear. The paper is 13\" X 8 1/4\" and has been trimmed some time in its long life. The image is 5 5/8\" X 10\". There are no creases or tears. There is a bit of foxing in the margins and in the lower right corner of the print (plainly visible in photo#1) The foxing is unobtrusive and only lends authenticity. We will include a description of the artist and his work that came along with the engraving. Please enlarge our photos for nice close up views of the condition and the text.
