This is one of the unusual Crimean war British medal I have ever seen. This Crimean war Campaign medal with a Black ribbon with a very gold tone to it. This medal was issued to STAFF ASSt, SURGEON. E.P. GAMBLE. MED,L STAFF The Clasp is silver and it is from the battle of Sebastopol. It is a full size of 3.6 MM and weighs in at 26.2 grams. The original ribbon has been replaced with a black silk Morning ribbon. It was probably worn by the mans wife after he died in the Victorian period. I am not an expert on these medals, and at first I thought it was made out of brass because of the gold tone to it. I have tested it an it came out that it is silver.
