Banks Div, Via Washington D.C.”. Its complete with Postal Stamping “Dover N.H. Jul 8 1862” andwith the canceled 3 cent US Postage Stamp. Letter is one and a halfpages, in ink and writtenin part, as follows...”Dear Son”….Your letter of the 28thcame in due time, I should have written earlier, but we had nothingparticular to write about ….. your Mother, as usual is very poorlyand worries a great deal about you staying away so long, some say ifyou are appointed by the government, you can not get away, anyhow, your mother has given up the idea of you coming back…..
