This fabulous set is from the summer of 1993; it was featured in an Elle layout entitled \"Donna Karan: Moor is More\", which was styled by Donna Karan herself! She spoke of the influence of several cultures, as well as a style debt to the Moroccans.... These pieces certainly feel as if they came from a far-off exotic land! The magazine article will come with your jewelry.The necklace is 56\" long, designed to be worn cross-body with the large (3\" x 3-1/4\") filigree cross at the hip, or it could be worn in the typical fashion with the cross hanging in the middle. The cross is marked \"Donna Karan\".Both pairs of earring are marked \"DK Co\".
The rectangular filigree earrings are about 4-5/8\" long. The glass dangles are a bit more greenish than the gold metal.
The round filigree earrings are about 2-5/8\" long plus the dangles. .The round earring with the broken back was found on a sale table; I\'m confident that it could be repaired, or you could wear a mis-matched pair, or just consider it an extra with the rest of the set! All of the other clips work well, but the rubber cushions are dry and need to be replaced. There are color variations in the metal--please look closely at the photos. The large filigree cross on the necklace is the coolest (less yellow in the gold) color, the rest of the necklace looks more bronze, and the earrings look a bit brighter--more of a light gold. My feeling is this was design intent--I could see color variations in the pieces in the magazine article. The variations seem to add to the \"ancient\" look but they are less apparent when the jewelry is being worn than they are in a photograph. The necklace was originally $500 and the earrings were originally $115. They\'ve been unworn in my jewelry box for way too long and need a new owner!!! Please ask question as all sales are final.
