The Postal Service willissue a 33-cent Daffy Duck Commemorative Stamp (Item Number 558700) in Los Angeles, CA,on April 16. The Daffy Duck stamp was designed and illustrated by Ed Wleczyk,Frank Espinosa, and Brenda Guttman of Los Angeles, CA, and goeson sale nationwide on April 17, 1999.

America’s favorite frolicking, frantic, feathered frienddebuted in the black-and-white cartoon, Porky’s Duck Hunt. However, itwas not until his second short, Daffy Duck and Egghead, in whichhe again appeared with Porky Pig, that the hyperactive unpredictable duck wasdubbed “Daffy.” He was an immediate hit, and Daffy and Porky became anestablished team that worked together for many years. Though Daffy’soverbearing personality played well off of Porky’s shy disposition, Daffyproved an even better foil for another Looney Tunes character — the suave,unflappable Bugs Bunny who was featured on the first Looney Tunes stamp in 1997.
