Here is the original art for Carol Day 1309, from the story, Off-Stage, the fifteenth Carol Day story. This story began on September 15th, 1960 and ended on December 24th, 1960.Off-Stage is the only Carol Day story set in the world of the theater. It’s the story of Peter Castle, a friend of Paul Egan’s, who is wracked with guilt over the fact that he plagiarized his hit play from a dead friend.

You\'ll notice that Carol Day is not in this daily at all, but this example superbly exhibits how detailed David Wright could be with his inking, and how effective he was at playing with atmosphere and light. This is perhaps the best (and maybe only) Carol Day example that leaves behind any reference to soap opera and, standing alone, could be taken to be from a great film noir production.

Size of the original is about 19 inches by 7.5 inches. Image size is about 4.875 by 17 inches. This strip is in excellent condition. Please review the scans and ask any questions.
