Fresh to the market from a museum deaccession comes thisDavis & Furber printing block of some sort of textile processing machine.

D&F were one of America’s premier industrial revolutioncomplies supplying textile and other machinery. After several partnershipchanges the company became Davis & Furber in 1835 and lasted until 1982.

Appears to be a copper clad metal mounted to a wood backingblock which measures about 4 15/16 x 6 1/16 inches. Quite heavy weighing about 2pounds. Great detail – nice deep engraving.

An incredible one of a kind piece of North Andover andAmerican manufacturing history.
