Completely tribal made and original Dayak Headhunter\'s Sword. I bought this on one of my 16 trips to the South Pacific about 1995 and have had it on display in the museum (Museum of the Pacific-Texarkana, Texas) for all these years. We are closing the museum after many wonderful years and are slowly passing on these relics to lovers of history.
This sword is made from hammered steel. It has a hand painted wooden scabbard and a side knife which was used for skinning.
Scabbard is decorated with dog teeth and fur. Lacings are made from colored woven twine.
A great piece of rapidly fading history. It will make a super-interesting display!
