Introduced in 1984, The Dickens\' Village Series portrays the bustling, hearty, and joyous atmosphere of the holidays in Victorian England. Many pieces in this series were inspired by best loved Dickens\' novels, including Oliver Twist, Nicholas Nickeby, David Copperfield, and the favorite among collectors- A Christmas Carol.

- \"Nicholas Nickleby Cottage\" Dept. 56 Item #59250. Introduced 1988 and retired 1991. This is the coggate where Nicholas Nickleby lived as the main characterin Dickens\' work by the same name. Size: 6.5\" Tall. This is 1 of the 2-piece set- Nicholas Nickleby. The other piece is called \"Wackford Squeers Boarding School\". The companion accessory is called Nicholas Nickleby Characters. Both are sold by us separately.
This piece is in absolutely mint condition! It comes with original box and sleeves. You will receive the same piece as pictured. We never use stock pictures. As they rounded a bend in the road, they saw the small, old-fashioned village decorated for the holidays. The lights, like fairies, glowed and sparkled amid the freshly fallen snow. All evening, the conversation was full of Christmas memories and the visions the tiny town had evoked. Amidst the jovial banter and magical memories, the idea for a lighted Christmas village was born. That spark of an idea became a reality when, in 1976, Department 56 introduced a series of six hand-painted, ceramic buildings. The rest is history.
