Title: Detective Comics
Issue#: 267
Condition: Fair/Good (please see comments and pictures)Up for sale is a low grade key Origin and 1st appearance of Bat-Mite. Beautiful eye appeal with no major cover pieces missing. Book lies flat, cover nice and flat. If not for spine split/tears, I would have given this a much higher grade. There is a chance that the beautiful eye appeal of front and back cover may offset the spine split/tears, however Fair/Good seemed a fair assessment with my amateur grading ability and I\'ll let you be the judge of that with as many pictures and detailed information below as possible. Art Comments: Bill Finger story, Curt Swan cover Sheldon Moldoff, Ruben Moreira,Joe Certa & Chalres Paris art
Key Comments: Origin & 1st appearance of Bat-Mite.As a collector I understand the importance of having clear and concise images to know exactly what you will be purchasing with your hard earned money. As such, all of my images consist of High Quality 300DPI Full Color Scans. I have also provided a check list of general information that every collector should know and ask prior to purchasing a comic. I have experienced slight of hand selling techniques as a buyer and vowed to NEVER do that as a seller. When you have the comic in hand I want you to feel that there was no deception and you knew exactly what you were getting and to never feel cheated.
NO blurry pictures. NO single picture. No Deception PERIOD!
Contact me and let me know if I missed something that drastically affects your confidence in purchasing from me in the future for absolutelyany reason.I don\'t like unrealistic expectations as a collector and don\'t want you to have any as a buyer. I am by no means a professional grader, however with that said, I have provided an honest grade to the best of my ability along with a condition check list to allow you to purchase with confidence. You ultimately will have the final say on what grade you think the comic is based on your personal criteria, however having my grades in place should help give you a good starting foundation.Condition Check List:1.Do the inside pages have any clippings to the best of my knowledge?NONOTE: I am not 100% familiar with every single page, pin up or centerfold of every single comic. If you have any doubts, please ask me and I\'ll happily send you a picture of the page/pages you request.2.Are the staples secure to the Front and Back Cover and centerfold? Secure types: Very Secure, Somewhat Secure (may have staple tears), Barely Secure (drastic staple tears and pulls and it\'s a miracle they still are secure and may not be secure the next moment even with careful handling).
Although the staples appear to be snug at the centerfold (pictured), the top staple is completely detached from cover and bottom staple barely attached to cover that I can\'t even understand what is keeping it attached if it in fact even technically is, to the point that I\'ll officially just call this completely detached/split for this listing.3.Are there any cover splits or additional notes (measurements are +or- 1/2 inch)?
Cover Split: Yes. Large cover split that starts from top and goes down approx 6.5 inches, just above spine tear, near bottom staple. Smaller bottom spine split approx 1/2 inch. Intermittent spine stress, splits and tears. Spine split nearly severed completely however at the moment still barely attached.
Spine tear: Slightly above bottom staple (pictured) there is a approx 1/2 inch horizontal tear that goes through front and back cover and inside pages.
Horozontal Back cover edge tear opposite spine, approx 1 inch.
Spine tear: Slight tear upper front cover edge that goes from front cover to about page 12 (pictured).
In my opinion, spine splits, and spine, page and cover tears are major detractors of this comics grade. Best place to view spine split is from inside back cover view looking for black background.
Additional spine stress, chipping, etc...Given the delicacy of this cover, I highly advise purchaser to take proper caution handling and opening this book from packaging. I\'m not responsible for anyones inability to handle or open a package. I am extremely careful with handling and opening packages for similar conditon comics I\'ve purchased before and will pack this comic with the utmost care and diligence. Shipping Methods: Nobody likes waiting long for their beloved comics, but then again, some of us don\'t mind saving some extra cash on shipping charges. What\'s a comic lover to do? The answer is have options! Free USPS First Class Mail.ORPay just $5.95 for Priority Mail 2-3 Days in a comic mailer.Grading: I am not a professional grader and even the strictest CGC/CBCS graders can disagree and interpret variations for the same comic. As such I have employed a \"see it and ask me as many questions as you wish to determine what grade your interpretation might be\"policy. Although I consider myself an amateur collector, I understand the importance of having a starting place to make a best educated guess. In the end your opinion of the condition and grade is what will matter, which is why I provide 300 DPI scans along with inviting you to ask as many questions or additional pictures BEFORE you purchase or offer.Packaging: I take pride in packaging the comics I sell to send them off the way that I personally would appreciate receiving them. Packaging may vary slightly due to the quantity and condition/value of the book(s), at a minimum all of my comics will be bagged and boarded, secured or supported with cardboard.I have found blue painters tape to be secure enough to hold a comic in place, while easy enough to remove, reducing potential risk of damage. Please be extremely careful when removing comic/comics from package to prevent damage. I invite you to message me after you have received your comic to tell me what you liked as well to provide suggestions of improvement for future orders. I am always optimizing my shipping and packaging process to mitigate the risk of potential damage.Return Policy: My return policy is that returns are not accepted. I will gladly provide any additional information or pictures upon request to allow you to have the utmost confidence to offer or purchase with confidence. When you decide to move forward and offer/purchase a comic from me, you are doing so with the understanding that you have had the opportunity to ask me any questions prior to doing so, to feel confident knowing what you are getting. If you don\'t ask the question, I can\'t answer it. Essentially, if you don\'t ask a specific question, I am unable to inspect and tell you the answer. Please ask any and all questions prior to purchasing. I am an advocate for honesty and authenticity and do not want to mislead anyone to a defect that I am aware of. There may be details I am not aware of,which is why I invite you to ask me any questions for me to gladly inspect as your eyes to report back to you prior to offerding/buying. I will ship to the best of my ability to ensure the comic will arrive to you similarly as it left my possession. Keep me mind, you have three shipping methods available to you and if you want to pay a little extra to help optimize the chances of a safe travel, you are encouraged to select a higher tier shipping service.
