This is an EARLY pieceof Dirk Van Erp. This is a hammered brass military ammunition shell,made into a goblet. I believe it is dated Dec 1897. It is marked onthe base “Manufactured by Winchester Repeating Arms CO.New Haven Conn. USA.” It is marked with a five pointed starwith a “V” in the center of the star. It is also marked“12-97”.

DirkVan Erp worked in a naval shipyard, he used brass casing and madegifts for friends. It has been noted that used different munitionsmanufacturers, that dated from 1890 to 1906.

Thisgoblet has a beautiful look to it. In good condition, tiny flea sizebend on the lip. It stands 4 inches tall, and is 2 inches wide at thebowl of the goblet.

Condition– Good, very very slight bend on rim

Size--- 4 x 2 inches/ weight 134 grams

Age--- 1897
