I cannot authenticate whether this is a true Dirk Van Erp so I must sayCaveat Emptor. I leave it to you the potential buyer to determine its true value, and I cannot accept a return. It is, never the less, a beautiful piece,beautifully crafted and looks much like the authenticated pieces I have seen in localantique stores. It is unusual in that it has an attached base of wood, which my guess is walnut. It appears attached via a pin through the center bottom ofthe base.Inside the vase I cannot see any means of attachment. I cannot find any on-line references to such an attached base, so it may or may not have been part of Van Erp\'s original creation. As authenticated pieces seemed to be a bit top heavy, the base substantially stabilizes it for practical use as a vase. Height without the wooden base is 13\" to the top most petal.
