Disneyland Light Magic Pin 1997

This is a vintage pin from Disneyland in California. This pin is a promotional item for Light Magic, a short-lived parade from 1997 that was not very well received. It had the misfortune of replacing the beloved Main Street Electrical Parade. The pin has the Light Magic logo with a sillhouette of Tinker Bell in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle.

This rectangular-shaped pin measures 35⁄8\" tall by 25⁄8\" across. There is a locking clasp for the pinback that is similar to a safety pin.

This is in very good condition. There are a few very mild surface dents - nothing serious. This looks great. The original retail price sticker from a Disneyland gift shop ($1.00 in 1997) is still attached to the back of the pin.

Light Magic opened at Disneyland in May, 1997. It was supposed to run for several years. The premiere performance for annual passholders had several technical problems, and the show received early unfavorable reviews. Bad word-of-mouth continued to plague the show for the entire summer. Light Magic closed on September 8, 1997.
