Handle is cracked.
***This saw contains a SUPER RARE medallion.***
The die stamp was set wrong sothe patent datenumbers appear as a mirror image of what they should be.
See photo of medallion and pay specific attention to the 2 and 7s in the patent date (the 1 and 8s appear right since their mirror image is the same)
I used the Disstonian Institute website for basic information on the saw.
I only found one other saw with this medallion error online and it sold at sale.
Therefore, I do not have much information as to its value but I do know it is significant.
A must have for any die hard collector.
