The strongest lock in the world is only as good as the strike plate it goes into. This 18\" long strike plate includes four 3\" screws to secure it to the stud and two 1\" screws to disburse force. It will strengthen wood door jambs and repair minor damage. The 2 holes are 6\" center to center but because the holes are oversize, it will fit standard 5 1/2\" up to 6 1/2\" center to center holes. The overall width is 2 1/4\" including 1/4\" lip and is made for use with 1 3/4\" exterior doors. It\'s a hefty 13 ga. (.095\") thick for added security. The lip runs the entire length of the strike plate so it will work with either left or right hand doors. This is an easy way to protect your house from one of the most common methods of forced entry. Finishes availableinclude bright brass, white &dull silverwhich can be used with chrome, nickel and pewter finish locks.
