This signet ring is a replica of the Order of the Dragon symbol that Vlad the Impaler, better known as Dracula, used to signify his membership in the Order.It is believed that he wore this image as a medallion during his lifetime. The Order of the Dragon was founded in 1408, by Sigismund, the King of Hungary for the purpose of defending the Cross and fighting against the enemies of Christianity, especially the Ottoman Turks. Dracula derived his name from the Order of the Dragon, Dracula means \"Son of the Dragon\". Vlad\'s father, Vlad II, received the surname of Dracul, meaning dragon, when he was inducted into the Order in 1431. Dracula himself was inducted into the Order when he was five years old.The Order of the Dragon ring is available in US sizes 6 to 13, in whole, half and quarter sizes. The ring will be made just for you, please allow 5 to 7 business days for the production of your ring from the time of payment. Please contact us with your ring size after you buy the ring.The signet ring measures approximately 17.7 mm (11/16\") top to bottom, 17.5 mm (11/16\") wide at the dragon signet and 4.5 mm (3/16\") wide at the back of the band. The Order of the Dragon ring weighs approximately 12.3 grams, weight will vary with size. Like traditional signet rings, the ring has been partially carved out behind the signet to reduce weight and increase comfort.We are the designer and manufacturer of these Order of the Dragon signet rings.
