Offeredis this lovely porcelain china figural group crafted in the tradition ofDresden Lace. Based on the mark, we believe the maker is Sandizell Hofner ofBavaria, Germany, which opened for business in 1951.

Thefigures are comprised of an elegant lady and gentleman dressed in period attireand silver-gray wigs. They are seated at a game table playing chess. The ladyappears to be winning, of course.

Thelady is wearing a porcelain lace skirt of white with pink trim and a slate-blueunderskirt, featuring painted roses at the knee. The woman has a hand modeledporcelain rose at her breast.

Theman wears knee breeches and a gold “embroidered” blue top coat over a whiteshirt with lace on the sleeves and collar.

Thisfigurine measures about 5.75 inches high (14.5 cm) and 7.5 inches wide (19 cm).

Thispiece is in very good used condition. Small amount of damage to the porcelainlace. Look carefully at the hemline above and to the left of her golden slipper.A small bit of lace may be missing from the back. Otherwise, no damage that wehave observed.
