This is a Dutch silver vinaigrette in the form of a book, with chased foliated scroll covers with a bird in flight.It has a gilt interior. It has a mark of a fish or dolphin. I have researched this to mean it was either of a grade below 833 or it was used on old or foreign items. It tests as silver. This mark was used between 1853 and 1893. It is in good complete condition with no damage. The gilding is worn. It weighs approx 15.9 grams and measures approx 4cm x 2.5cm.
