Dutch Netherlands Sterling Silver & Glass CruetSet Hallmarked c1893

Presentedis a stunning solid silver Cruet set with cut glass bottles. This beautiful sethas four bottles of two sizes, all with stoppers. It has a central carry postwith a large ring and four eagle claw feet beneath a gallery surround tray withbeaded edges. This Item is hallmarked with the high standard Dutch orNetherlands sterling silver marks for 934 fine, American standard sterlingsilver is 925 so there is slightly more silver in this alloy, with a maker’smark of R with two stars and a date mark for silver made c1893. I have placed a photo of my research in the pictures above. While all fourbottles are a match only three of the stoppers seem original to the set and allof the bottles seem to fit well in their prospective holders. This is a beautifulpiece with no dents or dings and only some fine scratches on this high finishedpiece with no monogram. The bottles have only very minor nicks and the stoppershave a few chips around the bottom. This is a fine set with a clean design and isan excellent example of the silversmith’s art.

Ihave an interesting assortment of items listed so please look at my othersales.
