Up for sale is a Child\'s Tea Set made in the early 1930\'s in Japan featuring Mickey Mouse, Long Billed Donald Duck and the long forgotten Disney star, Elmer Elephant.
The service includes the teapot, creamer, sugar bowl, plates, teacups and saucers. There is full service for four. Two additional plates, one additional saucer and two additional tea cups with broken handles are included.
One of the rarest designs of the early Japanese Disney children tea sets.
These Japanese tea sets were made of very inexpensive and thin china. The manufacturer did not want to let anything go to waste and chips, breaks and other factory flaws were literally (not just figuratively) glazed over. One of the tea cups for example has some sort of cement like residue inside of it. As can be seen in the pictures, a few of the plates and one of the four intact cups have small chips.
It however will be difficult to find this very rare pattern in better shape.
