STRAIGHT FROM AN OLD COLLECTION DOWN IN PENNSYLVANIA.

AN EXTREMELY FINE EARLY 19TH CENTURY PENNSYLVANIA GERMAN HANGING SPOON RACK IN EasterN WHITE PINE WITH FANTASTIC ORIGINAL RED AND BLUE PAINTED DECORATION. Pennsylvania, Circa 1820-1840.

A GREAT EARLY DESIGN AND FORM. A RECTANGULAR MOLDED EDGE BACK WITH AN APPLIED DOVETAIL CUT OUT BOTTOM SPOON HOLDER. THE BOTTOM SPOON HOLDER IS HELD ON BY ITS ORIGINAL SQUARE HEADED NAILS.
THE ENTIRE PIECE STILL HAS ITS ORIGINAL RED PAINT ON THE BACK (with traces of a painted decoration still intact but washed down) and its ORIGINAL BLUE AND RED PAINTED SPOON HOLDERS ON THE BOTTOM.

The paint is perfection. THE PAINT IS ALL ORIGINAL, GRUNGY AND IT HAS THE BEST PATINA.

THERE ARE CUT OUTS FOR TWELVE (12) SPOONS, (the left most cut out is lost), see photos.

Other than the loss to the left most spoon holders as stated there are no damages except for the wear and tear you would expect from an item like this over the course of 200 years.

The spoons are NOT included.

This great rack is 6\" tall and 26\" across.
