i think this is an extremely rare and early polychrome carved wood religious figure titled ST ANDRE, its a large piece measuring about 46.5cm high and weighing about 1.8kg, it looks like the bottom corner has been broken and re-attatched at some stage, also has various old woodworm holes as expected on a figure like this, cant be exact on date but ive seen similar ones from the 1500-1600s, info and viewing is the best option otherwise selling as unknown age. ive just noticed in one hand it appears like something once slotted through a hole, maybe a stick or similar, it came with a similar female polychromed figure im also listing, this figure is shown in my last photo, they look very good together and i will combine shipping if you win both. surely an extremely rare carved wood religious figure, should really be in a specialist sale. it came with some more very rare pieces that i will be listing.
