A beautiful rare very earlyVictorian sterling silver filigree card case. It is unmarked as is common buthas been tested as sterling silver. It can be dated by its cartouche to 1839. Ithas been beautifully made incorporating peacock feather scrolls around a shieldcartouche engraved ‘AMB 2Nov 1839’. It is in perfect condition being free fromdings splits and repairs - note all the filigree work is complete. It is a goodsize measuring over a touch under 4 inches (10cms) a fraction over 2.75 inches (7cms)and weighs 68 grams. A stunning high quality rare piece.
