AUTHENTIC RARE Easter GOEBEL “OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY\"

DISPLAY BASE WITH CONFIRMANDS FIGURINE PAIR,

For Easter, we are pleased to offerthis authentic Goebel \"OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY\" stage base with a boy and girl \"Confirmands\" figurine pair.The history of the \"Oberammergau Passion Play\" began almost 400 years ago, when the plague raged in many parts of Europe and Germany was not excluded. In 1633, the village of Oberammergau experienced many deaths. The villagers met in prayer and promised to perform a passion play, which reflects the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, every decade, if the people were spared from the plague. Their prayers were heard, answered, and they kept their promise ever since. In 2000, the 40th \"Oberammergau Passion Play\" took place and brought in a record number of 520,000 audience members over the course of 110 performances. While attending the performance, many people wanted to purchase something to remember their trip, and might have purchased one of these Goebel bases from \"Heigl\'s Gift Paradise\', which is still nearby.Included with this \"Passion Play\" stage base are two rare Goebel \"Confirmands\" figurines, a boy and girl in traditional attire. The \"Confirmands\" boy has a ribbon tied to his arm, holding a prayer book, and a palm. The \"Confirmands\" girl is holding a candle and a prayer book. She is also wearing a white veil with small blue flowers. Even without the Goebel mold imprint, we can determine that these are authentic Goebel figurines by their trademark #2, \"bee in V\" blue marking on each figurine. Since, we were unable to locate any information on these two figurines, as to their mold numbers and pictures, then we are selling these, \"as is\". These are now only available on the secondary market.
