Easter island in the Pacificocean. It was made by one of its best-known and most sought after artist:Benedicto Tuki Tepano. ( or Bene Tuki ) Galleries all over the world have shownhis work. Even the New York Times published an article about him in the year2006: \"An Artist sets Sail, but South Pacific Pulls Him Home.\" Thispiece is signed and 21 inches tall. It is remarkable for its glyphs, the birdcrowns on Marias and Jesus\' head and its highly elegant shaped. There isprobably some loss of material on the right hand that was been re-worked later. All in all a spectacular piece that was used on thegospel on Easter island before it became part of a German art collection in thethe mid 1980ties. Im Jahr 2016 widmete ihm die New York Times einen eigenen Beitrag mit dem Titel \"An Artist sets Sail, but South Pacific Pulls Him Home\". Jahrhundert benutzt die traditionellen Symbole und die Formensprache der alten Kunst, diezum polynesischen Kulturkreis gehört. Diese prächtige, 53 Zentieter hohe christliche Figur gehört zu den ganz wenigen Stücke, die nicht für Touristen und Reisende gefertigt wurden, sondern für neuen - jetzt christlichen - Kult. Ein elegantes Stück von höchster künstlerischer Qualität. Lediglich die Ausformung der rechten Hand, die verkürzt erscheint und anders als die linke keine Finger hat, deutet darauf, dass hier möglicherweise bei der Herstellung oder beim Gebrauch ein Stück abgebrochen sein könnte und nachbearbeitet wurde.
