A very good quality large Victoriansterling silver bowl. It is hallmarked for Sheffield 1891 with the maker’smarks being HA for Henry Atkin, a good quality well respected firm. It has anunusual design having gadrooned sides with an embossed raised centre withflower like decoration. Its rim has beenfinely engraved with a honey bee which makes me suspect it may have beenintended to hold honey. It is in outstanding condition being free from dingssplits and repairs, the inside is faintly gilded. It is a good useful sizemeasuring over 5.5 inches (14.2cms) across by almost 2 inches (5cms) tall. It impressivelyweighs 5.7 troy ounces (177 grams). A superbly designed eyecatching piece.
