Fresh from a longtime collection and offered today, is aTruly Wonderful and Outstanding LARGE 12\" long x 8\" wide Carved Ash Burl Effigy Ladle. The figure is Outstanding with tons of tight Plum Pudding eyepatterns! Thinly carved bowl, substantial carved handle and Bird EffigyHandle. Exceptional deep rich patination to the handle and slightly lighter patina to bowl from 200 years of use and handling!. Two minute stress/shrinkage fractures in the rim of the ladle. NO repairs or in-fill. Just as I purchased from a private collection where it has resided for 60 years, never being for sale until now! Check out pictures for depth and richness of patina and condition. One will look long and hard to find another ladle of this quality and condition (best one I have owned in 20 years).
