Beautiful antique French Fan dating 1770. Extremely rare, depicting the wedding of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI of France.
Absolute museum quality and in very good condition.
The fan is in very good antique condition with minimal signs of wear. The only place where you see some wear is on the gold enamel on the guard where the fan was held in the hand when closed. One break in tortoisestick has been professionally repaired without loss of original material and only barelyvisiblefrom the back. For this enforcement also tortoise has been used.Tortoise carved sticks with gold enameled figures and mother of pearl inlays, and silver enameled decoration.

This fan is an absolute unique fan and the topic is historical one of the most interesting stories.Width when opened about 50 centimeters, length when closed 27 centimeters.
