Antique, authentic, important Japanese Suji Bachi Kabuto war helmet - Edo period, 17th-18th century
Large, heavy and impressive helmet made of 50 Suji sections in iron covered with lacquer with gilt decorated mountings and an impressive Shikoro or sectional neck protectionBears the Mon or crest of the Hisamatsu clan
The inside is padded with cloth and signed by the maker in red lacquer
Very good condition for the age with very minor losses and no restorations - some mild ware as seen in the pictures
it measures (Kabuto only) 28 cm deep x 25 cm wide x 17 cm tall - it is 50 cm wide including the sectional neck protection
