Gorgeous volume, profusely illustrated in colour and black and white. Publisher: MacMillian and Co., London 1917, one of the Limited Signed Edition of500 copies for sale, Arthur Rackham\'s signature on the numeration page. Fine recent vellum, gilt title on spine, gilt decoration to upper cover. Thick oversized quarto, TEG ( Top Edge Gilt), other edges deckled ( uncut). Sixteen (16 ) full colour chromolithograph illustrations on cream-and-gold linen-papermounts, all under captioned tissues, andfurther black and white drawings and decorations by Arthur Rackham, this volume is profusely illustrated and decorated. The text and black and white illustrations are on English hand-made watermarked Holbein paper ( please see photos), which is textured and thick, similar to watercolour papers. Impressive heavy, magical volume. A very lovely book, superbly illustrated and decorated, finely printed on handmade paper, in gilt vellum binding. Book condition: Vellum with slight colour differentiation across the boards - this is a natural material and the colour is therefore with slight variation. Otherwise, a FINE COPY, without any foxing, spotting, gift or other inscriptions or bookplates.

Scarce in such superb condition, as pristine and beautiful a copy as could ever be found.

Stunning gilt vellum volume, which would make a wonderful, memorable and very special gift.
