EXQUISITE AUTHENTIC ANTIQUE 19TH c AUBUSSON TAPESTRY PILLOW FIGURAL ~ MARIE ANTOINETTE VERY VERSAILLES

Feast your eyes on this exquisite authentic 19th century Aubusson tapestry turned into a drop dead gorgeous pillow. I spared no expense on this beauty. The Aubusson depicts a woman in her garden watering her tulips. In the background you can see trees and foliage. She is in a floral cartouche. The colors are all muted; green, beige, pink, brown and more. The condition of the tapestry is very good with one tiny dot by the woman’s head. There are no separations or worn spots. I used an antique gold torche trim around the tapestry. If you are familiar with this trim you know how rare and expensive it could be. It sells for between $50.00 - $100.00 a yard depending on condition. This happens to be new old stock (NOS) and never before used.

On the front of the pillow I used a vintage 100% silk damask from Scalamandre. The back I used a off white soft cotton velvet. I finished the pillow off with two different trims. The top trim is a green dangling bobble and the trim underneath is a white tassel trim. This gives it depth and opulence.

This piece of history and work of art is one of my finest pillows to date. It is of course one of a kind. It measures approx. 22” x 22” stuffed. There is a hidden zipper closure for your convenience and a feather and down insert for a plush look and feel. By the way, if you would prefer fiber fill please let me know and I can replace the insert. I’ve recently become aware that some animal lovers prefer something other than feathers. I love animals but have to have my feather and down pillows. I can however admire people that can make the sacrifice. The entire pillow is lined for extra durability. This pillow was created to last for many more centuries. It is a precious heirloom ready to be passed down to future textileophils and lovers of beautiful things. It is in excellent newly created condition combining the old (Aubusson, gold metallic trim and silk) with the new (all the other elements). It comes from a smoke free home.
