Magnificentantique c1930 dress - sensual and lovely. Black sheer chiffon in a pull-over style, cowl front, with long ties at the sides to knot behind. Fabulous focus on those back curves! Welove this dress.
No label, but clearly couture. This is entirely hand stitched, tiny and fine stitches. The quality and attention to detail suggests a top designer. This came in an 1920/1930 estate collection of mother/daughter dresses, many of which were French, and included an authentic tagged Jean Patou. Based on the size, this is the daughter\'s dress. Based on the design and style, we suspect this to be from the house of Madeleine Vionnet. Absolutely beautiful.
Size:Small to Medium. Laid flat, 19\" across at the bust; 15\" at the waist; approx 60\" length from shoulder to hem.
Condition:Very good. A little musty. On the dress, some small holes in chiffon, some loose seams, small fray at hem (last photo for fray). The ties each have a similar small tear near the top, and some holes (last photo for tears and largest of holes). The shoulders have little fasteners to keep the slip straps in place.
