This listing is for an amazingand extra largeIdaho Star Garnet from the Emerald Creek area in Northern Idaho. It weighs approximately 1 pound2 ounces and measuresover 2.75 inches long,2.5 inches wide and 2.375 inches tall. This dodecahedron crystal (12 sided) is one of the largest specimens I have ever obtained. The dark purple, plum colored gem with asterization occurs in only two locations in the entire world: India and Idaho and the Idaho product is far superior. Cut it, display it, sphere it, or simply treasure it, one cannot go wrong with an exceptional piece such as this! Needless to say, finds of this kind are rare at best.
