FRESH FROM AN OLD COLLECTION, THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST 18TH CENTURY WROUGHT IRON WICK TRIMMERS WE HAVE EVER OWNED.

THE ABSOLUTE BEST EARLY 18TH CENTURY NEW ENGLAND WROUGHT IRON WICK TRIMMER, CIRCA 1740-1760 IN THE BEST OLD SURFACE AND PATINA. VERY RARE DOUBLE PIG TAIL END HANDLES.

A RARE early example in wrought iron.

Wick trimmers were different than snuffers, trimmers would actually cut the wick as opposed to snuffing out the flame.

Not very many true 18th century American wick cutters survived, you see many more snuffers. 18th Century wick trimmers usually did not have the added feet we see in the more common 19th century examples.
