1861 TAG & NOTE


AUTHENTIC NAMED OWNER CIVIL WAR DRUM
This handsomely preserved drum was manufactured byJohn C. Haynes and Co at Massachusetts Drum Manufactory, and bears the original label of the manufacturer on the inside of the drum shell. Also on the inside of this drum is the handwritten name of owner Henry B. Bragg of Bolton, Connecticut, written in pencil. In the same hand writing appears the note, \"James Monroe Wallen put in a head for Henry B. Bragg September 26th, 1861 in the year of our Lord (and glorious savior) Christ.\"Henry Bragg was a Private in theCTFifth Regimentwho fought Bravely at Winchester, Fort Royal andGettysburgamong other battles.
The drum is brown wood, with rope and leather tension system still intact. Neither drum heads are present. An Extremely Easy complete , it Measures 12\" tall by 17\" in diameter.
This Magnificent Piece of our History WAS from the Estate of a Very Well-Known and respected TheaterOwner and lifetime Civil War collector From Upstate New York.
Condition :This Civil War Drum is Extremely well preserved and cared for. Some rubbing, and mild scratches. Mild to moderate signs of age, such as toning and patina on hardware. Tension ropes and leather original, and show moderate aging Please Check All Photo\'s.
