The wire rocker base prototype was originally designed for the Museum of Modern Art\'s \'International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design\' in 1948. This base came on a chair I\'ve had for many years, but is almost certainly a reproduction, not OEM. It is in excellent condition, with normal wear on the underside of the runners. The runners appear to be white maple.This base will fit all Charles Eames for Herman Miller shells with the narrow shockmount configuration.
