Early 1900s Metal Christmas Tree Candleholder with Counterweight-Used-Very Good ConditionCondition: This early 1900\'s metal Christmas tree candle holder is used, but is in very good condition: there is no original box or package...there are no accessories (no candles, etc)...This item is intact, except one of the four tiny metal tabs that hold the candle in place is missing...the wire is bent in several places...the counterweight is present, but small areas of the top gold layer of paper are peeling up, showing some small bare spots-this counterweight has several tiny dents...this item is unmarked...the metal top was originally silver painted, but the paint is mostly gone...there are small remnants of wax on the metal candle holder...NOTE-UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS THIS ITEM TO BE USED FOR HOLDING A LIGHTED CANDLE ANYWHERE, ESPECIALLY ON A TREE!!!!!!!!!!Description: This item is made of metal and some other substance (maybe clay)...it measures 5 1/4\" high...the ball measures 1\" in diameter...it originally would hold a candle with a 1/2\" diameter base...the s-shaped portion of the wire would hang over the tree limb, holding the candle upright, with no chance of it tipping over, BUT IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TO USE THIS AS HOUSE FIRES CAUSED BY THIS TYPE OF THING WERE VERY COMMON...this item has no markings, we we don\'t know who made this or where it was made, but it was probably made in the United States...the consignor has a 1908 photograph of this type holder being used on a Christmas tree.Notes: Here\'s a unique vintage candle holder, perfect for use with a non-candle ornament!If the thumbnail images do not load or enlarge, please refresh the page...if the photos still don\'t load, please let us know...we have just noticed that some of the thumbnail photos are not visible unless you click to enlarge the gallery photo-so please click to enlarge the gallery photo so you can see all of the thumbnails!
