Pattern/design description-Central portrait signed by artist A. Nicolas. This yellow glazed fully hand painted and gilt plate features a central portrait of Cupid and Psyche framed in ruby red enamel jewels. to the left is a cobalt blue medallion with heavy gold gilt flora. The right is decorated with a panel featuring fauna \"bird\" on a celeste blue background. The top of the plate has a thickly gilt petite medallion with cobalt and ruby red accents and around the outer rim are gold gilt birds and sprigs of flowers on branches in the Chinoiserie style so popular at the time. Yes there is indeed a lot going on with this amazing show piece.

-this plate has been completely broken in half and professionaly but sympathetically restored with the entire reverse being reglazed to stabalize the break and very little else. As little back painting as possible has been used in the restoration of the front and especially in the field of painting.

Additional Notes-Rare and early 1st quality piece. I originally had this listed as Sevres which is how it was described when I purchased it but I have been advised that this is actually early Coalport \"my thought when I first saw it\" instead.

General note for item conditions:All items come to me as previously owned so I cannot attest as to their treatment and Environment prior to coming into my posession. I clean most of my items as they come in but if I deam an item to fragile or to be overall very clean then I may decide to skip the cleaning process.
