This sale is for an early medieval manuscript vellum Antiphonal leaf, in Latin, most likely of Italian origin, circa 1475. There is one smaller red \"L\" initial in a background of elaborate blue scrollwork and a huge red/blue \"L\" initial (over 6 1/2 x 4 inches not including top/bottom red penwork extensions) in a background of intricate red scrollwork.
The leaf measures approx. 19 x 15 inches. Despite some rubbing of the black text, this rare leaf is in very good condition. Guaranteed to be completely genuine.
