This sale is for a large and early medieval manuscript vellum Antiphonal leaf, in Latin, Germany (Cologne), circa 1450. There are five large black Maskeron initials and four large red/blue Lombard initials. There is also a contemporary addition in the bottom margin. According to a previous owner, possibly from the scriptorium of St. Michael am Weidenbach in Germany.
The leaf measures approx. 17 x 12 1/4 inches. Despite some age-toning and minor staining, this rare leaf is in very good condition. Guaranteed to be completely genuine.
