Here is an old and unique RIO GRANDE WEAVING - WITH A TRADITIONAL BANDED BLANKET PATTERN. There are many beautiful wools and the purple color is due to a Native Vegetal Dye from Pinon Pine Nuts - hand dyed wools. It is in Excellent Condition for age (c1890) with a beautiful and subtle, yet classic and stimulating design. This blanket is hand woven and made from fine looking hand spun, hand carded and hand dyed Churro Wools. Note the fine looking red trim as well.

The size of this textile is approximately 62\"X 55\",with a HAND CARDED CHURRO WOOLWarp of 6-7and a HAND CARDED CHURRO WOOL WEFT of about 20- a beautifully designed and well constructed piece of NativeAmerica!CONDITION-EXCELLENT for AGE: Please see all pics! NO Bleeding of colors, NO old dry/tired/bad wool, NO notable stains, NO notable fading, NO bug/moth damage! There are few small frays/snags (see last pics w/ fingers pointing). SELVAGE: End and Side Selvage Warps / Edges are 99% intact and present. There is what initially looks like some very light background soiling, but this is due to the dark brown to grey hand spun and carded warps which show through the weft a little. This blanket was hand cleaned by an experienced Navajo / Native American rug cleaner recently, there are no odors. Ready to display as is and sporting fine looking wools as well as a Classic Banded pattern!!

BOTH SIDES photographed in entirety - Pics taken outside in late afternoon sunlight! This rug will look great as a wall hanger and will brighten up any home!
