Early GERMAN Red with Pansy Paper Mache Rabbit Easter Candy Container. 4”

Red egg with gold trim and purple pansy applique\'. Exterior trim only missing four details, and is scuffed from use on the back.Most of the inside trim (doily fabric) is missing. 4” long. There is no Germany label on the interior, but German antique dealer I purchased this from said that this was German, that it was the oldest of the three eggs, defined by its simple appliqué design and lack of label. Later eggs had more detailed, whimsical pictures.

It is in great Early Vintage condition. The colors are nice, and the inside is slightly spotted from use and age.

The dealer said that it was, in her best estimation, pre-1940s.
