Brand: EternaAbout the brand: It is a Swiss brand founded of manufacture: unknown -probably in the early fortieswatch size:

The diameterof the nickel/chromium finished case with a stainless steel back is 34,5mm notincluding the crown. Full length is 40mm. It is 18mm wide between the lugs.

Specifics ofthis model:

1 - vintage historicalwatch, not a recent re-edition.

2 - Raremodel with gorgeous original dial.

3 - The watchfeatures an automatic wind movement of the first generation, bumper type.

4 - Thewatch was ahead of its time, with its screw case back for some form ofwaterprofing.

dial: The original dial has light, beautifulpatina - see the pictures and make your own opinion.

hands: the goldcolored hands are in very good condition, with some small signs of oxidation - see the pictures and make your own opinion.

case: It is in very good condition - see the pictures and make your own opinion.

Movement: finish of the movement is OK. I would say verygood/excellent condition - see the pictures and make your own opinion.

The crystal: is Plexiglas / plastic and it is in excellent condition. It has no uglyscratches, no cracking and no glazing - see the pictures and make your own opinion.

The watch is signed : in the dial and inthe mechanism.

The bracelet: It is a genuine leatherbracelet that goes very well with the watch, but itis not from Eterna.

In Januaryof 2016 the watch received an overhaul:

1 - The casewas re-plated.

2 - Thecrystal was replaced.

3 - The movement had somepieces replaced and received a C.L.A. job by atrusted watchmaker. For those of you who might not know what a C.L.A. job means, it involvesthe disassembling of the watch mechanismand having it cleaned in a specific machine with special liquids to remove dryoil and dirt. Afterwards the movement is lubricated with the proper oils andadjusted after being tested in a vibrograf machine.

Inpractical terms it means that you can use the watch every day without fear thatthe lack of lubrication wears the movement pieces.

Working condition:

Starts immediately when wound, windssmoothly, runs very strong. Time setting is smooth.

To get you a clearer picture of how the watch will behave, I do thefollowing home testing: I manually wind the watch, even if the watch hasautomatic wind, and test it against a watch that I know is correct. For this Ipurpose I use a web page that provides the exact time. I check the deviationafter 12 and 24 hours. The result after 12 hoursfor this watch: -02 seconds. After 24 hoursfor this watch: -09 seconds

This home test is not a warranty of repeatability or accuracy. Actuallywearing the watch in the pulse will get you different results for sure. Nomatter how good the test results may look, the watch is sold as is, without anysort of warranty.
