Here for your perusal, another gold-enriched cabochon fresh from the wheel. The network of gold veins is impressive and accounts for the high SG (specific gravity). The parent rock, found in California\'s Mother Lode country, was loaded with precious metal. Gold can be seen as heavily-concentrated veins filling up much of the showy, domed face. The back face is flat. The rainbow of residual colors livening up the matrix almost defy belief. It\'s dense, un-fractured ore. A few dark vugs appear here and there with polished gold overlapping them. Both faces of this crazy-rich cab are pictured. Itoriginated as gold ore float which weathered froma vein in the Mother Lode country. Then, it was fashioned into this gem.
